Planning Access Template

Once you have determined the most applicable RightCapital software outputs, you can create a template for planning access. To add a planning access template, navigate to the Advisor Portal > Templates > Planning Access tab. Your Templates tab may be located in the Advisor Portal > °°° More Menu, depending on your specific account setup.

Once here, click the blue 'Add Template' button. Select the items and the order that you would like them to display. Name the template and Save it.

When selecting a specific client, if you want to use a template to determine their access, search for the client's name > click planning access > select the specified template.

Planning Access Template Rules

When Planning Access Templates are created by either the advisor or the assistant, those templates are added to their own portals, even if they create the Planning Access template while impersonating another firm member.

An assistant can toggle to the advisor's portal and set a Planning Access template for one of the advisor's clients. Planning Access templates can only be applied when logged in as the advisor that the specific client/client group is listed under.

An assistant cannot apply a Planning Access template to any client listed under the advisor. The assistant will only see client groups/sample clients that are under their assistant portal listed when they try to apply the template.

Example: If the assistant on the team switches to the advisor in the upper left-hand corner of the portal, they will still be unable to apply a Planning Access template to a client listed under that advisor. If the assistant tries to apply the Planning Access template to the 'Existing Clients' group, it will be applied to the assistant's 'Existing Clients' group, not the advisor's.
