The charts here will compare the client's current payment plan in green, to your proposed payment plan in blue. On the right side of the page, you can find the total savings, loan balance forgiven, and interest benefit that your proposed strategy would yield for the client. Total savings indicates the difference in total payments between the two strategies, and the interest saved in the first three years of income-driven repayment plans will be listed under interest benefit.
Summary Tab - Student Loan Module
The Summary tab of RightCapital's Student Loan module is the best place to visualize how a client's current student loan payments stack up against your proposed payment plan. You can access the Student Loan module within the "..." More Menu > Debt tab of each client plan:
This area highlights major differences in total payments, loan forgiveness, and interest payments between your "proposed" strategy and the "current" scenario. Though it is the first tab, it is often most helpful to view after having completed the loans and strategy tabs. The Summary tab is fantastic for beginning a client conversation as it summarizes all your hard work:
In addition to the Student Loan Summary chart, you can find two additional charts by clicking the dropdown arrow next to the chart name. These charts highlight Student Loan Balances and Student Loan Payments, respectively. Both charts zero in on the next ten years of the plan projections:
