The Permissions tab is home to two global settings that directly impact how your clients are able to interact with RightCapital. In addition to the Client Portal Settings, which impact how your invited clients can interact with the Action Items and Profile inputs, the Permissions area provides two additional settings that impact clients' ability to add/edit tasks and budget categories.
This tab can be accessed via the Client Settings > Permissions tab of the Advisor Portal. Your Client Settings tab may be located in the Advisor Portal > °°° More Menu, depending on your specific account setup.
These are global settings, and will apply to all clients that have access to their RightCapital client portals. For more details on inviting clients in RightCapital, click here.
Allow clients to add/edit tasks
This setting controls whether or not clients have the ability to add or edit tasks within their client plans. By default, this setting is checked.
Tasks in RightCapital are a means for you to communicate with your invited clients directly within their financial plan. With this setting checked, clients will be able to create new tasks and edit existing tasks within the Dashboard > Tasks tab of their plan. Clients can only edit tasks they have created, not tasks that you have entered.
Allow client to add/edit budget categories
This setting controls whether or not clients have the ability to add or edit budget categories within their client plans. By default, this setting is checked.
Budget categories in RightCapital allow you to tailor the income and expense categories used by the Budget module, as well as the pre and post retirement living expense cards. With this setting checked, clients will be able to create new budget categories and edit existing categories within the Gear Icon > Settings > Budget Categories tab of their plan.

If you wish to revoke access for either of these settings at any time, uncheck the box(es) and press the Save button in the bottom right corner.
