The Notifications tab allows advisors to set the global client notification defaults for all new client plans. In doing so, you can tailor the experience for your clients by determining the frequency of email notifications for things like Tasks and Vault activity.
This tab can be accessed via the Client Settings > Permissions tab of the Advisor Portal. Your Client Settings tab may be located in the Advisor Portal > °°° More Menu, depending on your specific account setup:
Upon making changes to this page, these settings will be applied to new client plans that are created going forward in RightCapital. Note that existing clients will not be impacted by changes made to this page. Existing clients are able to make changes to their personal notification settings within the Gear Icon > Notifications tab of their Client Portal.
Although the settings here will be used by default for new client plans, clients can override the advisor defaults in the Gear Icon > Notifications tab of their Client Portal. Advisors do not have the ability to change a client's personal notification settings within a client plan.
Email Notification Settings
When new tasks are assigned
This setting determines whether or not clients will receive email notifications when you assign them new Tasks. By default, this setting will be checked.
When tasks are due
This setting determines the frequency with which clients will receive email reminders for upcoming tasks. By default, all three reminder boxes are checked.
When tasks are overdue
This setting determines the frequency with which clients will receive email reminders for overdue tasks. By default, the 'weekly reminder' box is checked.

When files are uploaded to the shared folder
This setting determines whether or not clients will receive email notifications when you upload files to the shared folder of their Vault. By default, this setting will be checked 'Yes' for all new advisors after January 10th, 2024. For advisors that started using RightCapital prior to 1/10/24, this setting will be checked 'No' by default, but can be enabled at any time for new client plans.
For client plans created prior to January 10th, 2024, clients will need to manually opt-in to vault upload notifications in the Gear Icon > Notifications tab of their Client Portal.

When new assessments are assigned
This setting determines whether or not clients will receive email notifications when you assign them Risk Questionnaires. By default, this setting will be checked.
For client plans created prior to August 13th, 2024, clients will need to manually opt-in to risk assessment notifications in the Gear Icon > Notifications tab of their Client Portal.
