The retirement spending strategy will only impact retirement living expenses, entered within the Profile > Goals > Retirement Expense card. The spending smile and spending stages will adjust retirement spending along with lifestyle changes as clients age, while the Floor and Ceiling and Guardrails strategies will adapt retirement spending based on market performance.

Yes! In the Retirement Analysis section, you can propose a new spending strategy within the Action Items at the bottom of the page. For a quick video tutorial on proposing new retirement spending strategies, click here. 

After implementing a spending strategy within a proposal, the best place to visually see the impact is within the Retirement > Analysis > Retirement Details chart. Here you can isolate just the Retirement Expenses within the plan, to easily see the fluctuations in retirement spending over time:

You will also find dedicated charts for the Guardrails and Floor and Ceiling strategies, if one of them is being used in your proposal. These charts are designed to highlight the more specific impacts of each of these strategies on a client's retirement living expenses over time:
