Why are savings cards not being funded in the financial plan?

Answer: Savings cards will only be funded if there is enough income in the specified calendar year to do so. If you wish to reduce taxable investment accounts in order to fund IRA and 529 savings check the "Use taxable account to fund IRA and 529 saving when current year cash flow is inadequate" box in the Client Plan > Gear Icon > Settings > Methodology tab.


Why don't I see the option to "add income" or "add expense" within the data entry?

Answer: When the "goals based planning method" is selected, RightCapital will remove the "add expense" input as it will not be used in future cash flow projections. To add additional expenses, change the Planning Method to "Cash Flow" or "Modified Cash Flow" in the Gear icon > Settings tab within the client plan. 


Where can I see the total expense and income information flowing from the data entry?

Answer: After completing the six initial steps of data entry it is helpful to review the Retirement > Cash Flows > Summary report to review income and expense totals. This is a quick way to identify the total income inflows and expense outflows during every year of the financial plan. If something looks off, simply click into the underlined column header (ex. Expenses) to see a breakdown of information.


How can I adjust the client's residence state?

Answer: The client's residence state is determined by the Client card within the Profile > Family tab, or step 1 of the initial data entry. To change a client's residence state in the future, use the Primary Home Relocation Card in the Profile > Goals area, or step 6 of the initial data entry. The residence state is important for determining state tax within the financial plan. To set the residence state for all new clients visit the Advisor Portal > Gear Icon > Account > Client Presets tab.
