RightCapital updates return assumptions annually after reviewing the prior year's historical return data. We email our advisors every year with new return assumptions in Q1. Return assumption presets will update automatically, but RightCapital will NOT automatically update customized return percentages for advisors. Updating the return assumptions will immediately impact all clients within the associated advisor's list.
You are likely using Legacy as your Model Type in the Assumptions > Misc tab of your Advisor Portal. Return assumption presets will only appear when using the Standard model type. Read more about the two model types here.
If you are a member of an advisory team that has decided to control asset return assumptions at the firm level, you will not be able to adjust asset return assumptions. If you have any questions about the asset return assumptions set by your advisory team, please reach out to your firm's super administrator.
Only Platinum subscription holders with custom asset classes enabled can adjust volatility assumptions for each asset class. If you wish to upgrade to a Platinum subscription at RightCapital, please reach out to sales@rightcapital.com.
Only Platinum subscription holders can add custom asset classes in RightCapital. Asset classes are stored at the firm level, so only one advisor from each firm can create new custom asset classes. For more information about creating custom asset classes, click here. If you wish to upgrade to a Platinum subscription at RightCapital, please reach out to sales@rightcapital.com
RightCapital uses Morningstar to classify investments entered into the client's Net Worth into the broad asset classes listed in the Advisor Portal > Assumptions > Return Assumptions area. If holdings are not available in Morningstar, they will be mapped to the "Other" asset class.
